JEDDAH: Action in the Saudi Professional League resumes Saturday after more than two weeks of break with three ninth round matches. The top match of the day is between Al-Ahli and Al-Nasr at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here.
Ahli is fifth in the team standings with 10 points from seven matches.
Ahli will be up against a tough opponent which is seeking to be back in the hunt. Nasr is in seventh place with six points from five matches.
Nasr and Ahli are both under pressure to collect the game’s three points if only to keep the peace with their fans who had become increasingly impatient for results.
Al-Ittifaq hosts Al-Hilal in Dammam. For the first time in the team’s history, Ittifaq is languishing at the bottom of the standings with no win, four losses and two draws.
In contrast, Hilal is on top of the league with 22 points and all signs point to another win against the hapless Ittifaq side.
Al-Fateh entertains Wehda in Ahsa. Al-Fateh is fourth with 11 points and Wehda eighth with six points.
On Wednesday, Al-Ittihad secured a very important 3-1 win against Najran at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here to jump to the third position with 15 points from five matches.
