JEDDAH: Al-Shabab and Al-Ittihad will clash in a crucial round nine match of the Saudi Professional League on Monday at the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd stadium in Riyadh.

Both teams will be looking for a win to secure their places in the league. Leaders Al-Hilal with 25 points will be closely watching this tie as a draw between these two teams, will be music to their ears.

Shabab is second with 19 points from eight matches and will try to narrow the gap with Hilal while Ittihad stand third with 12 points from five outings.

Ittihad on the other hand will be trying to close the gap with Shabab. Ittihad will not jump to third place if they win but will help them stage a comeback as they have four matches to be played.

The second match of the day is between Al-Raid and Najran in Buraidah. Al-Raid is 11th in the standing with four points and Najran is ninth with six points.

On Sunday, Al-Hazem and Qadesiya drew 1-1 in Al-Rass. Ayed Al-Balawi scored for Qadesiya in the 19th minute and Hamdji got the equalizer for Al-Hazem in the 33rd minute following a penalty kick. After Monday’s matches, the Saudi league will take a break due to the season of Haj. The matches will resume on Tuesday Dec. 1.
