HALAT AMMAR: The Health Surveillance Center at the Pilgrims City in Halat Ammar, the border point between Saudi Arabia and Jordan, has not registered any cases of pilgrims entering the Kingdom with contagious illnesses.
Dr. Mustapha Farraj, assistant director of Health Affairs in the area, said the center has been holding health awareness seminars for pilgrims. He added that pilgrims have also been provided with H1N1 and meningitis vaccines, and that the vaccination certificates are also being reviewed to ensure vaccinations have been taken.
He added that the center has distributed over 60,000 flyers in six languages to increase awareness of health issues among pilgrims.
