MANAMA: Bahrain is in the process of implementing a $350 million oil pipeline project linking Bapco and Aramco which will increase the crude refining capacity from 265,000 barrels per day to 400,000 barrels per day, a senior government minister said on Wednesday.
“In order to have the crude supply to feed a refinery of that size, we will need to build a new 100-kilometer pipeline between Aramco of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain,” said Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, minister of oil and gas and chairman of National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA).
Mirza, who officially inaugurated Ernst & Young Global Oil and Gas Center of Excellence in Bahrain, said the opening of the center would further reinforce Bahrain’s position as a leading player in oil and gas sector.
