JEDDAH: Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua, 58, is still being treated for acute pericarditis at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah. It had been thought that he would be well enough to fly to Abuja last Monday amid mounting calls in his country for him to step down due to his health problems.
In the Nigerian capital Abuja, the Information Minister Dora Akunyili said that Yar’Adua was responding to treatment but “only his doctor that can determine or say when he will return.”
