CASABLANCA: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah was awarded the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI) Prize 2009 at a function held in Casablanca on Friday.

Saudi Ambassador to Morocco Muhammad Al-Bisher received the award on behalf of the king. The king was awarded the prize in recognition of his role in the support for libraries, information technology and cultural, intellectual and educational activities.

“Human and social development is the central point of all policies and projects King Abdullah has been putting forward,” said General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library Faisal bin Abdul Rahman Muammar in an earlier statement to the Saudi Press Agency.
