JEDDAH: Thirty-one mosques damaged in flood-hit neighborhoods have been repaired and refurnished, according to the authority in charge of mosques in Jeddah.
"An action committee accompanied by the Director of Mosques Administration and Director of Technical Matters visited and assessed the damage of all mosques in the districts badly hit by the floods and found the furniture in over 30 were totally destroyed or rendered unusable," Director General of Endowments and Mosques in Jeddah, Fehaid Al-Barqi, told Arab News.
Al-Barqi added that the immediate refurbishing of the mosques was carried out under the orders of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Saleh Al-Asheikh.
The repaired mosques are located in the districts of Quwaizah, Al-Sawaed, Al-Harazat, Al-Jamiah, Al-Amir Fawaz, Al-Mahamid, Eastern Al-Muntazihan and Al-Adl in the north and south of the city.
