RIYADH: The Supreme Court announced Wednesday that Thursday, Dec. 17, is the last day of this Hijrah year and that the new Hijrah year 1431 begins on Friday (Dec. 18).

The 10th of Muharram (Ashoura) falls on Dec. 27.
