JEDDAH: Natco Saudi Arabia continued their winning streak in the division I cricket league sponsored by ACE Travel and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association, when they got the better of strong contenders Brothers-XI by six wickets
In the other matches during the 8th week of the tournament, young Pak Ahmadabad-XI got the better of Old Students-XI by 96 runs.
At JCA No. 2, Brothers-XI won the toss and elected to bat and scored 156 for 6. Their star performers Mohd. Afroz and Anwar Khan were out cheaply. However, middle order batsmen Sameer and Arif Rana stood firm making 39 and 38 runs respectively.
Wahid took the wickets of Sameer and Arif.
Shamim at the end used the long handle as he hit an unbeaten 24 runs.
Natco Saudi Arabia started well as their opening batsman Fahad had made 50 runs of 25 balls. His partner Jawad scored 23 runs. Skipper of Natco, Humayoon Farooq showed his batting abilities, as he remained unbeaten with 27 runs. Rayeesuddin took 2 for 27.
At JCA ground No.3, Pak Ahmadabad-XI batting first scored 209 for 3 in their allotted overs. Syed Ashraf Shah retired hurt with a well deserve 70 runs. His partner Noman Memon scored 50 runs and also had retired hurt. Arsalan Farooqui remained unbeaten on 50. Bilal took the wickets that fell for Old Students-XI. In reply the Old Students slumped to 113 all out. Gajju 25, Zeeshan 20 were the main run getters for the Old students. Zahid and Haque Nawaz bagged took two wickets.
