JEDDAH: A fine batting performance by Majid Bhatti who scored 83 off 27 balls enabled Sigma Paints Usfan score a five-wicket win over Pak Young in the 8th week of the Premier division cricket league sponsored by Initial Landscaping Company and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
In the other matches, Barracuda Arabia beat Saliheen by 143 runs while Kanoo registered a 42-run win over Desert Warriors.
Pak Young batting were bowled out for 148 in the allotted 18 overs. Skipper Shakeel (31 runs), Shahzad (23 not out) and Arshad Khan (20) were their main scorers.
Zameer took three wickets.
In reply the Sigma Paints Usfan team started well and the top order were back in the pavilion cheaply. However, Majid Bhatti stopped the slide and played a match-winning knock of 83 runs for a comfortable win.
In another match Kanoo batting first scored 161 for 9 in the allotted 16 overs. Rashid Khurshid (47), Najamuddin (36), Rehan (21), was their main contributors.
Rehan took 3 wickets for the Warriors.
In reply Desert warriors were bowled out for 119. Mazhar top-scored with 27 runs.
Majid Sheikh took 4 for 15. Skipper and wicketkeeper Majid Siddiqui had 4 victims behind the stumps for Kanoo.
In the third match of the day Barracuda Arabia (ICC) batting first blasted 295 for 8 in 18 overs. The inform Zameer made 83. The others who shown form with bat were Guddu 39, Shahbaz 29, Habeeb 26, Khadim 23, Hafeez 36. For Saliheen Shabbir and Shoaib took 2 wickets each. In reply the Saliheen scored 152 runs and lost by 143 runs. Left arm spinner Faraz and fast bowler Zameer took 2 wickets each for the losers.
