RIYADH: Seng De Torres claimed the inaugural Almarai Golf Open Championship 2009 title on Friday at the Palms Golf Club InterContinental Riyadh beating Ador Laxa in count back. Both Filipino golfers came with a score of 57 net, 2 over par.
The course condition was excellent but the pin positions were tough even for many experienced golfers. The tournament attracted over 100 players of 12 different nationalities. The Stroke play format tournament for 18 holes held over 2 days, Thursday and Friday.
Danilo Naval, net 60 won the Division A (handicap 0-6) prize while Rudy Pranga got runner-up position with a net 61.
B-division (handicap 7-12) championship grabbed by Ador Laxa with 57 net and Khalid Raja claimed the second position with 61 net score.
Korean diplomat Man Kyung Jun won the C- Division (handicap 13-above) prize with 60 net while Zoilo Holganza gained the runner up position with 61 net.
All time ladies champion Anne Bjornstad retained her position with a net score of 63 while Mami Tsukuda won the second place with 72 net.

Hussam Abdul Qader, general manager marketing, Almarai, congratulated the players and distributed prizes. The SR 30,000 worth of prizes were distributed at the awards ceremony included Callaway X-22 set, golf bags, Callaway drivers, putters and other premium golf items.
