RIYADH: On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, is scheduled to inaugurate the Riyadh Economic Forum on Sunday. The three-day event is expected to draw a clientele of more than 3,000 participants among members of the private and public sectors, as well as educators, economists and intellectuals.
The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry is sponsoring the event with an array of local sponsors such as Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), National Commercial Bank (NCB), Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), Saudi Aramco, Al-Rajhi Bank and Riyad Bank. In a message released for the occasion, King Abdullah said the theme of the forum is sustainable economic development. Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman said the forum would open up new ideas and would pave the way for creativity in business sectors among Saudi businessmen and women entrepreneurs.
The forum’s Secretary-General Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Kathiri said the discussions would address five important issues grouped by a common theme of the issue of sustainable economic development.
