JEDDAH: Al-Ittihad continued to raise eyebrows over their dismal performance in the Saudi Professional Leauge this season when they were held 3-3 by Qadesiya in Alkhobar on Saturday in a round 13 encounter.
The gap between the top two Al-Shabab, Al-Hilal and Ittihad further widened reducing their hopes for the league title.
Ittihad is now in third place with 20 points and the gap between them and Shabab is nine points and leaders Hilal 12 points.
Ittihad’s only hope is to win their remaining match and hope Hilal and Shabab lose points in their remaining matches.
Ali Al-Shehri of Qadesiya was first to score in the 15th minute before Luciano of Ittihad leveled in the 23rd minute. Juan Elias Comin gave Qadesiya the lead again in the 38th minute before Amin Chermiti leveled for Ittihad in the 71st minute. Juan Elias Comin made it 3-2 for Qadesiya in the 81st minute. Sultan Al-Numari restored parity for Ittihad during injury time.
At Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal stadium in Jeddah, Ahli secured their second win in a row against Al-Hazem and their fifth win in the league after winning 2-1. Ahli strengthened is in the fourth place with 18 points while Al-Hazem is tenth of the standing with 12 points.
