JEDDAH: Wehda delivered the perfect gift to Al-Hilal when they held Al-Shabab 1-1 with an injury time goal and thus widened the gap at the top in favor of Hilal by five points in the Saudi Professional League round 13 encounter played at Makkah.
Shabab shot into the lead when Tareq Al-Tayed bulged the net in the 76 minute.
Just when it looked that Shabab were home with three points Rafeeq Abul Samad got the equalizer for Wehda following a free kick.
Shabab is now stuck in the second position with 30 points, five points behind Hilal. Wehda is in fifth place with 17 points.
In Najran, Hilal got the better of Najran 2-1 and strengthened their position at the top of the league table to remain unbeaten with 35 points.
Najran are in the 11th spot with seven points.
In Riyadh, Al-Nasr scored a solitary goal win over Ittifaq at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd stadium.
The only goal of the match came from Rayyan Belal following a header from inside the penalty box.
Nasr is now in the seventh place with 15 points while Ittifaq is ninth with nine points.
