JEDDAH: Fine bowling performances by veterans Aizaz Ashraf Toor and Jameel, both who took four wickets each, helped NCB score a convincing 7-wicket win over Deccan Knights in the 8th week of Div-II cricket league matches sponsored by Al Harazi contracting & Trading Establishment and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
In the other matches, Butt Sports registered a 5-wicket win against Saudia City while ALJ routed Al Ghudaid-XI by 75 runs.
The Deccan Knights batting first were bundled out for 99 13.4 overs. Muhammad Umar (19), and Sameen (15) were their top scorers.
Aizaz Ashraf Toor who bowls left arm spin troubled all the Deccan batsmen and took 4 for 13 runs off 2.4 overs. Jameel took 4 for 24.
In reply the bankmen reached their target 100 runs 13.2 overs. Tahir made 47 runs; Majid who managed 27 runs backed him.
In another match, Saudi City batting first crashed for 77 runs. Ghoshi (20) and Afzal (23) were the only batsmen who offered some resistance. Junaid and Nasir had two wickets each.
In reply the Butt Sports team reached the target off 78 for the loss of 5 wickets. Tariq Butt made 34 runs.
In the third match of the day, the ALJ batting first scored 179 for 7. Vijay (31), Tanveer (30), Madhu (19 n.o.)and Shiraz (19) did well for the winners.
Babar and Nawaz had took two wickets each.
Al Ghudaid-XI folded for 104. Babar was the top run-getter with 43.
Tanveer and Madhu took 3 wickets each.
