RIYADH: With strong willpower to finish the elimination round undefeated, White (Batching Plant) team beat Red (Truck Mixer) 73-53 at the round conclusion of the Qanbar Ready Mix 1st Inter-Color Basketball League at the Qanbar Ready Mix Staff Accommodation Basketball Court, Nadeem Area.
The Batching Plant boyz anchored the semifinal round partakers with 4-0 record and now need to deliver their best over contenders Blue (Workshop), Dark Blue (Concrete Pump) and Red (Truck Mixer) teams.
The last match of the elimination round saw both White and Red teams that started strong to conclude the initial period with 13-13 all scores followed by another quarter deadlock scores at 31-31 all. The third canto situation saw White coach regroup his cagers banking on Danny Bonotan, Willy Ardiza, Randolf Espejon, Rundy Quiambao and Vande Zande Bajo to play good defense.
Their effective teamwork paved the way to keep the momentum in their favor to close the quarter with 10 points margin, 53-43 and without looking back widened their advantage to 20 points at the final buzzer. With the loss, the Truck Mixer team who featured the trio of Jeffrey Magtira, Gerry Elopre and Lito Gonzales as their leading scorers still qualifies to fill-in the last slot of the semis round.
