JEDDAH: Capt. Abdullah Al-Amri, official spokesman for the Civil Defense in Jeddah, said the Civil Defense received a phone call on Sunday about the partial collapse of an old building in the historical downtown Balad area of the city.
The imam of a mosque in the Balad contacted the authority when a part of the building collapsed. No one was injured. A number of residents in the area expressed their fear about the building, saying that the municipality and the Civil Defense should either repair it or demolish it.
