JEDDAH: The Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) has reiterated it call for the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis saying “the Supreme Court should take notice of the plight of these hapless people languishing in Bangladesh camps for over three decades.” At recent a function to pay tribute to the country’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, speakers called on the Pakistani government to fulfill its national obligation and bring back its citizens living in miserable condition in another country. Mohammad Abdul Rafi, who presided over the function, spoke of his association with Jinnah, saying he was a student and a member of Muslim Students Federation in Lahore when he met Jinnah. Azeez Ahmed, secretary-general of Pakistan Engineers Society, said “failure to follow the Quaid’s principles made us weak”. Farhan Siddiqui, organizer of the Muslim Welfare and Development Organization, said Pakistan lost its eastern wing because of some vested interests. PRC convener Ehsanul Haque said Quaid’s strong leadership made Pakistan a reality. Community leaders Ghulab Khan, Shamsuddin Altaf and Amanutallah also paid tribute to Jinnah.
