MADINAH: Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Madinah arrested two youths in relation to the attempted kidnapping of a schoolgirl in the city.
“The commission received several complains from parents about youths gathering in front of a girls school, particularly at home time,” said Bandar Al-Rebaish, the commission’s spokesman in Madinah.
He added that the commission was called after three young men were seen harassing three female students. “The youths were blocking the road leading to the high school, something that had also created a traffic problem,” said Al-Rebaish.
“It was then that the commission members arrived and saw the three young men. The commission members also saw one of the youths come out of the vehicle and trying to drag one of the girls into the car. When he saw the commission members, he let go and ran off,” said Al-Rebaish, “We were, however, able to arrest the other two youths in the vehicle.”
He added that investigations are ongoing to arrest the third youth.
