RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will not allow anybody to violate its sovereignty, declared Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, on Tuesday.
Addressing senior military officers and commanders who came to greet him, Prince Sultan saluted the brave soldiers who were killed while fighting the Yemeni intruders.
He said the families of the dead soldiers would receive support and care from the government. “Be sure that all the families of the martyrs and missing, and injured soldiers will receive the special care of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah,” he said.
Prince Sultan said the whole world supported Saudi Arabia in its fight against the Yemeni intruders. “We have not attacked anybody and we don’t like our army to become a force of evil against our brothers, but we want it to be a force of goodness and peace,” he said.
Prince Sultan said Saudi Arabia never wanted to fight with fellow Arabs but the Yemeni intruders imposed the war on the Kingdom. “Saudi Arabia remains a peace-loving country. It has done a lot for the good of people all over the world. But unfortunately we found ourselves in a situation that was imposed on us and we had to face it with dignity and honor,” he explained.
Prince Sultan said the Yemeni intruders attacked the Kingdom without any reason. “We are very sorry for shedding the blood of Arabs who are dear to our hearts. We had expected from those who fought with us or those who instigated them to fight that they should have directed their weapons against our enemies.
“The world around us takes quick steps to progress. It would have been better for these intruders to participate in the development of their country which works for the welfare of all Yemeni people.”
