RIYADH: Princess Adelah bint Abdullah, daughter of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, inaugurated the administrative building for girls’ education on Tuesday.
Princess Adelah toured various departments inside the building and said it would contribute to the continued improvement in the standard of girls’ education in the Kingdom.
“We have to tackle the weak areas in order to transform them into successes in cooperation with related departments and agencies,” the princess said.
Princess Adelah emphasized the important role parents and guardians play in the education of their children. “We should make use of the skills and capabilities of talented children so they can serve the country.”
The princess underlined the significance of edutainment and extracurricular activities like visits to libraries and museums, adding that they would encourage children to read and enhance their knowledge.
Earlier, Noura Al-Fayez, deputy minister of education, welcomed the princess and other guests. She praised the government for allocating SR137 billion in the national budget for education and work force training.
Al-Fayez, the first female minister in the Kingdom’s history, outlined the progress of women during the era of King Abdullah. “Saudi women have won the confidence of the king, who is willing to involve them in the decision-making process,” she said.
