JEDDAH: The round 16 of the Saudi league action will continue on Wednesday with three matches taking place.

In Jeddah at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal stadium, Al-Ittihad will be seeking a win and three points against Al-Hazem of Al-Rass.

With only nine matches to go in the league, Al-Ittihad will have to see to it that they do not drop more points if they want to stand a chance for the title.

Ittihad is currently in the third position with 26 matches while Al-Hazem is in the eighth spot with 16 points. Ittihad struggled to get past Najran 3-2 last Friday. A win against Al-Hazem will strengthen their position in the standings.

In the second match of the day, Shabab will host Al-Fateh at King Fahd international stadium in Riyadh.

After escaping with a draw against Al-Ahli in their last match in Jeddah, Shabab who finished runners-up last season, have no other alternative but a win to stay in contention for the top spot,

Shabab is second on the league table and only four points separate Al-Hilal who is on top of the league with 34 points.

Al-Fateh is in the seventh place with 17 points and is out of contention for the title.

The last match of the day is between Qadesiya and Al-Nasr in Alkhobar. The match is very important for Nasr who need to improve their position in the league table.

On a high now after their stunning win against Hilal in the last round, Nasr will want to keep up their good show and continue their winning streak.

Nasr is in the sixth place in the standings with 18 points. A win will take them to the fourth position with 21 points.

On the other hand, Qadesiya will need a win to escape from the relegation zone. They are now 10th with 11 points.
