20-year-old dies in shooting
RIYADH: Police arrested a man accused of murdering a 20-year-old Saudi in Riyadh’s Al-Rawdah district following a dispute. The man left the scene of the crime after shooting his victim. He was arrested a short while later by police. The man has been taken into police custody pending further investigations.
16 overstayers arrested
MAKKAH: Highway police arrested 16 overstayers traveling inside a large truck on the coastal road leading away from Makkah toward the south of the Kingdom. Most of the arrested were Yemenis heading home. The driver of the truck was also arrested and his vehicle confiscated.
Man shot for divorcing wife
TAIF: A Saudi man was shot in the foot by his ex-wife’s brothers in the north of Taif, Madinah newspaper reported. The brothers shot the man for divorcing their sister. Police arrested the brothers and took the injured man to Taif’s King Abdul Aziz Hospital for treatment.
3rd suspect held for cop’s murder
TRUBA: A third man was arrested late Friday for involvement in the murder of a security officer in Taif. The man was arrested dressed in women’s clothes. He surrendered himself to police without any resistance and was taken to a police station for questioning.
Killer confesses to crime
MADINAH: The confessions of an 18-year-old youth accused of killing a six-year-old girl in the village of Al-Shaij, Mahd Al-Dhahab, in the Madinah province, were authenticated at a Madinah court on Friday. The teenager is accused of luring the girl to an isolated place and beating her to death with a tent pole. He is accused of then covering her body with clothes and calling her father saying he saw a stranger in a valley acting suspiciously and that the man fled when he saw him.
