Man rescued from middle of desert

RIYADH: Riyadh Civil Defense rescued a man whose car broke down in the middle of the desert on Sunday, Madinah newspaper reported. An airplane and 17 teams were dispatched as part of the rescue operation. The man’s car had stopped working in eastern Riyadh, about 120 km away from the city. He was rescued and is in good health, said a Civil Defense spokesman.

Son arrested for rebuking father

RANIAH: Police in Raniah arrested a man who rebuked his father in Bisha province after stealing his car, Madinah newspaper reported. Police spokesman Saad Al-Khathran said that the man was arrested on a public bus while the passengers’ identities were being checked.

Sexual abuse case reported

TAIF: A father has filed an official complaint with the administrative body responsible for boys’ education in Taif after a school allegedly tried to cover up his son’s sexual abuse there, Al-Yaum reported. A cleaner is accused of abusing the child. When the father complained the school apparently tried to push him off. The father has asked the administrative body’s head to hold the school accountable.
