JEDDAH: Ministry of Health inspectors seized aphrodisiacs past their sell-by date from a pharmacy in south Jeddah on Tuesday, a ministry official has confirmed.

“The pharmacist responsible will be questioned and action will be taken against him,” said Assistant Director of Health Affairs for the Private Sector Mahmoud Abdul Jawad. Those violating pharmacy regulations face a fine or closure of their business depending on the seriousness of the offense.

Jawad said common offenses in the sector include selling medicines that had expired, offering illegal aphrodisiacs for sale and unsafe storage of medicines.
