Flier with liquor busted at airport
JEDDAH: Customs officials at Prince Abdul Mohsen bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Yanbu confiscated a bottle of alcohol from an Egyptian passenger who arrived in the Kingdom on a flight from Egypt on Tuesday. The man was arrested while passengers came into the airport’s arrival lounge. “The bottle was confiscated and the man was handed over to the airport police for questioning.”
‘Don’t harm eyes during eclipse’
JEDDAH: The Saudi Ophthalmological Society has warned citizens and expatriates against looking directly or indirectly, even with sunglasses and lenses, to the sun during Friday’s eclipse. Chairperson of the society, Dr. Amal Al-Humaidan, who is an eye consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, said the sunglasses were not enough to protect the eyes against the sun rays.
SR327m deal for university work
AL-JOUF: Rector of Al-Jouf University Muhammad bin Omar Rabie Bidair Wednesday signed two contracts worth SR327 million with two local construction companies to construct the building of the College of Engineering and to complete the second phase of the university’s basic infrastructure project.
