DALLAS: Kobe Bryant nailed the game-winning shot with 28 seconds left, lifting the Los Angeles Lakers to a 100-95 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday in a clash of the top two teams in the NBA’s Western Conference.
Bryant, suffering from a sore back, had only 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting, but Andrew Bynum had 22 points and 11 rebounds to help the Lakers end a three-game road-losing streak. Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points for the Mavericks to become the 34th player in NBA history with 20,000.
Nuggets 115, Magic 97: In Denver, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points to lead Denver over Orlando in a meeting of two divisional leaders.
Chauncey Billups added 24 to help the Nuggets open a 1-1/2 game lead atop the Northwest Division.
Spurs 109, Thunder 108, OT: In Oklahoma City, rookie DeJuan Blair set new career highs with 28 points and 21 rebounds as San Antonio edged Oklahoma City in overtime.
Richard Jefferson hit the winner. He ended up with the ball after a Spurs’ play went awry, with Manu Ginobili diving out of bounds to save a pass that bounced off of Antonio McDyess.
Trail Blazers 120, Bucks 108: In Portland, Oregon, Portland led by as many as 33 points in the second half and shot over 60 percent from the field in defeating Milwaukee.
Brandon Roy, who scored 22 points, went to the locker room with a little more than six minutes left for treatment on a tight hamstring and did not return.
Hawks 94, Wizards 82: In Atlanta, the hosts responded to a Washington challenge to notch a third straight win.
Joe Johnson scored 24 points and Jamal Crawford added 22 for Atlanta, which led by 22 points late in the first half, but saw Washington draw within two points in the fourth quarter.
Pacers 122, Suns 114: In Indianapolis, the hosts came from 24 points down in the first half to beat Phoenix.
Danny Granger scored 33 points and Mike Dunleavy added a season-high 30 for the Pacers, who were down by 23 points against Toronto on Monday before rallying for a victory.
Hornets 108, Clippers 94: In New Orleans, Chris Paul had 15 points and 15 assists to lead New Orleans to its seventh win in eight games, downing Los Angeles.
Peja Stojakovic, hitting at least four 3-pointers in a game for the ninth time this season, scored 20 points to help New Orleans beat the Clippers a 12th consecutive time.
Rockets 120, Timberwolves 114, 3OT: In Houston, Aaron Brooks scored a career-high 43 points as Houston piped Minnesota in triple overtime. Chuck Hayes grabbed a career-best 17 rebounds for the Rockets, who won their 10th straight against Minnesota.
Heat 115, Warriors 102: In Oakland, California, Dwyane Wade shook off an injured wrist to score 35 points on his best shooting night of the season as Miami beat Golden State.
Jermaine O’Neal added a season-high 24 points, including two big baskets late for the Heat.
Celtics 111, Nets 87: In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Boston had a predictably easy win in a meeting of the best and worst teams in the Atlantic Division.
Paul Pierce scored 24 points in 28 minutes, while Ray Allen added 15 points or the Celtics, who were untroubled despite playing without All-Star Kevin Garnett (right knee) and reserve Rasheed Wallace (sore left foot).
Knicks 93, 76ers 92: In Philadelphia, David Lee scored 24 points and hit the game-winning layup with 13 seconds remaining as New York edged Philadelphia.
Wilson Chandler added 18 points for the Knicks, who won their first game in Philadelphia in five seasons.
Allen Iverson scored 16 points for the Sixers.
