RIYADH: The Philippine’s flagship airline is to fly to Riyadh, marking its return to the Kingdom after an absence of nearly four years.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) will resume flights on March 28, partly due to pressure from the local Filipino community.
The direct service will operate four times a week each way between Manila and Riyadh.
PAL last served Riyadh in March 2006 before suspending the service for commercial reasons.
The airline had been the favored service for Filipinos in the Middle East because it flew directly to Manila, as opposed to other carriers that sometimes make as many as two stops.
The re-addition of Riyadh as a destination means that PAL will now fly to 25 international hubs. The airline already serves 29 domestic airports.
