JEDDAH: Al-Ahli scored a crucial 2-0 win against Al-Wehda at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal stadium in Jeddah in round 18 of the Saudi Professional League.
Ahli is fifth in the standing with 26 points while Wehda is sixth with 23.
Al-Ittifaq and Al-Shabab drew goalless in Dammam.
The draw will enable Ittihad — if they win their remaining matches — to displace Shabab from second position on the league table.
Shabab has 37 points, four more than Ittihad. Ittifaq is seventh with 21 points.
In Al-Ahsa, Najran got the better of Al-Fateh 1-0 to earn three points.
Al-Fateh is eighth in the standing with 21 points while Najran is tenth spot with 13.
Three matches will be played on Sunday.
The match of the day will be between Al-Nasr and Al-Ittihad in Riyadh. Ittihad is third on the table with 33 points while Nasr is fourth with 30.
Al-Raid will host Qadesiya in Buraidah. Al-Raid is at the bottom with eight points while Qadesiya is 11th with wthe same number of points.
Al-Hazem will host Al-Hilal in Al-Rass. Hilal is first in the standing with 47 points while Al-Hazem is ninth with 19 points. If Hilal wins then they win the league title regardless of the matches remaining.
