JEDDAH: The chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has said that the organization has taken a huge step forward in improving trade in the region. Saleh Kamil added 13 strategic objectives had been adopted following a meeting of the chamber’s board of directors.
“All members have approved the objectives, which will contribute to increasing trade exchange with foreign countries and improving the business climate in Jeddah, Rabigh, Qunfuda and Laith,” he said.
The objectives include improving services for the chamber’s members and increasing their number from 45,000 to 100,000 within four years, the chairman told reporters. “We wanted to improve the investment climate in Jeddah by removing all obstacles facing investors,” said Kamil, who is a leading Saudi businessman.
He disclosed the JCCI’s plan to establish strategic companies to support employee-training programs.
He said the chamber would work hard to realize the hopes and aspirations of businessmen in Jeddah and solve trade-related problems before they reached the courts.
