RIYADH: Southpaw Nap Torres burned the lanes to become the Best Bowler of the Week and lift Royal Archer to the Best Team of the Week accolade during the 3rd week of the FBGR-Almarai Saturday (formerly Thursday) Bowling League.
The league has shifted to a new home, the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). Also supporting the league are the ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel (TFC) and the UBC management represented by Ammar and Rashid.
Class A Torres fired a towering four-game series of 906 points on lines of 205, 236, 243 and 202, as Royal Archer to dismantled Alsalam Aircraft 20-9.
Supporting Torres at Royal Archer were Fareed Aquino (869), Tony Napo (786), Doy del Moral (711) and team mentor Rodel Molina (692). The victory helped Royal Archer improve to second place in the team standings behind the new league leader Fathi Bowlers.
At the center stage for Alsalam Aircraft was the fastrising Mario “Helipad” Rivera who toppled a four-game series of 898 points. Rivera, Class C player and with 16 handicap per game, shot lines of 205, 237, 212 and 180.Rizal Dellosa delighted too and shared limelight with Rivera by posting 824 series in four games while Ernie Bacani and the comebacking Jess Vidal scored 536 and 457 series in two games. Benjie Valderama, team captain, Bandar Al-Marshad and Rollie Cleofe submitted 354, 322 and 298.
SABB-One HSBC, without mercy, blanked Almarai in straight four games, 19-0 behind the deadly games of Jojo Paciano and Leo Mabunga. Paciano and Mabunga sealed separate series of 843 and 797. Mike Ecalnir added 695 points while Jun Jabonero had 529 series. Yasser Mohamed and Cas Encila downed 364 and 318 while Francis Guron had 183.
For Almarai, having the best score was Jun Daniel with 691 points and he was followed by Alex Armada (685) and Romy Cabrillas (660).Emerson Mitra and Jesse Bryan collected separate series of 288 and 269.
Fathi Bowlers rolled past Nadec Strokers 18-5 to take over the top spot from Talent Management. Erwin Nacario and Gayner Elias starred in Fathi’s win with separate series of 835 and 817. Fathi Abdulaziz and Jun Bantug came in next to Nacario and Elias at 745 and 710 while Noli Ritual contributed 637.
Reynald Medina and Ruben Babasa paced Nadec Strokers by posting 819 and 740. Charles hit 536 points followed by Danny Nabong (492), Jove Marano (367) and Lope Ramirez (326).
Other results: Over Hit 2 beat Orbit Showtime 17-5, Eraserheads beat Fuji Elevators 17-9 and Wala Pa Eh! beat Talent Management 14-8.
