JEDDAH: The Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Chair for Consolidating Saudi Moderation Policies signed a strategic partnership to increase cooperation with the Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Chair for National Unity Studies at Riyadh’s Imam Muhammad bin Saud University.
As part of the agreement, the two bodies will exchange academic expertise and research. The agreement was signed during a meeting at the Makkah Governorate office in Jeddah on Monday.
A second partnership was also signed between the chair and Saudi media company ALF ALF. According to this agreement, ALF ALF will give full coverage to the chair’s activities via its radio and television channels.
Saeed Al-Maliki, the chair’s administrative supervisor, said the aim of the agreements is to bring the chair’s moderation policies into the mainstream and increase public awareness of the dangers of fanaticism, religious extremism, terrorism and westernization.
This is the second meeting to be held since the establishment of the chair last month. At Monday’s meeting Prince Khaled reviewed the committee’s proposals and suggestions, and discussed ways of bringing the Kingdom’s policies to bring moderation into the mainstream.
