JEDDAH: Zinda Tilismat of India, Hyderabad, scored an easy 62-run win over Saad Group Cricketers in the third round match of the Division I cricket league, organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
The hero of Tilismat’s win was a fine knock of 77 by their star batsman Jaweed.
In another match a fine all round performance by Natco Saudi Arabia’s skipper Humayun Farooq helped his team score a seven-wicket win over new comers Hyderabad Green-XI.
Tilismat skipper Muhammad Sadathullah elected to bat and scored 196 for 7 wickets in their allotted 18 overs.
Opening batsman Jaweed Ahmed attacked the bowling from the start and scored his quick fine innings off 77 in 21 balls (11 x 4, 3 x 6).
After the fall of three quick wickets, youngsters Sayeed Khan and Zahid propped up the innings as they hit 35 and 31 runs respectively. Mustafa, Tauqeer and Riaz took two wickets each.
In reply the Saad Group were 134 for 8 in 18 overs.
Only Sajid (50) and his partner Mustafa (36) were the main scorers. While the other batsmen failed to make a fight of it. Left arm spinner Zahid and right arm medium pacer Wahid took two wickets each.
At ground No 2, Humayun Farooq Natco Saudi Arabia won the toss and elected to field against Hyderabad Green-XI.
The Hyderabadis could make 114 for 9 in the allotted 18 overs. Opener Mukhtar top-scored with 30 played and Shaban made 29.
Humayun with his slow spin attack took 3 for 19 and Imran 2 for 3.
In reply the Natco Saudi Arabia reached their target for the loss of 3 wickets in just 10 overs. Imran (35), Humayun Farooq (40) was the main run getters.
