RIYADH: There are plans to set up a multi-million riyal health care center to treat cardiac-related diseases.
The SR562-million private facility is the brainchild of the Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group and Al-Faisaliah Medical Systems Co. (FMS).
“This cardiac center falls in line with our policy to develop pilot projects in the field of health care in Saudi Arabia,” said chairman of the Al-Habib Group Sulaiman Al-Habib.
He said the new facility would be ready by the end of the year.
“This hospital will have modern emergency rooms equipped to treat all types of cardiac diseases as well as heart surgery theaters for adults and children,” he added.
Al-Habib said that a number of experienced doctors and paramedical staff would be recruited to work at the center.
He added that FMS has the expertise in equipping cardiac centers, having supplied equipment to at least 17 in the Kingdom over the last 30 years.
The Al-Habib Medical Group recently opened a 150-bed hospital to serve the Qassim and Hail regions.
It also has plans to establish a 244-bed hospital in eastern Riyadh within a few months as well as the first private bone and spinal specialist hospital next month.
Sulaiman Al-Habib is founder of the group, which owns and operates a number of hospitals and medical centers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The group aims to become the largest provider of health care services in the Middle East. FMS is a subsidiary of the Al-Faisaliah Group, established in 1970.
With over 200 employees, the company provides diversified health care solutions for hospitals and health care providers in Saudi Arabia.
