JEDDAH: MC Hammer bristled with energy despite the long layoff due to the holidays and came a point shy of the perfect score on the way to the Team of the Week award during the 10th session of the Inter-Company Bowling League (ICBL) 25th Conference at Jeddah Lanes in Mosadia Plaza here.
MC Hammer cemented its place at the top of the team standings by posting the top tally of 55 points.
Rival Kulisap ni Moe denied Hammer a perfect 56 by winning the second game but it ended the day a far second on 45 points.
No team has scored the maximum possible points although SAB Middle East was the first to hit 55 during the fifth week of the competition.
Hidada Ltd. was third behind Hammer and Kulisap on 44 points, followed by Sky Land 41, Saudi Diyar Consultant 39 and Sky Freight-TFC 35.
The first session back after the break of this Friday afternoon league saw SAB Middle East compiling 33 points with Cristal Global and Strikers tied on 27. Faris Bowling pooled 22 points, while JEM Striker, Pa-Tsamba, Fun Time and Mix Force finished on 16, 15, 14 and 7 in that order.
MC Hammer, which scored 14 first-place points in all but one of the three games and overall output, completed a double when Nick Gozun shot the high series of 698 on lines of 235, 237 and 214 to become the men’s Bowler of the Week. SAB’s N. Cerbito was the honor in the distaff side, shooting 646.
Zaldy Bacero and Eddie Tuico made sure Gozun’s efforts don’t go to waste with rounds of 667 and 610, while C. Guzman and G. Mata contributed 608 and 580.
Kulisap ni Moe received the second high series of the night of 690 from Zaldy Parinas. Nonie Yap tossed in 648 to go with the 613 by Mark Hernandez, 575 from B. Alday and 522 from A. Pinus.
Leading Hidada Ltd. was Amro who had another 690, while Rene Martinez came through with 630. The other scorers were N. Patayan 555, G. Siasoco 590 and P. Acato 555.
Sky Land had Voi Ycong and Oca Bernabe as the leading scorers at 679 and 624, with Fred Monzon on 580, A. Antinero on 548 and G. Dasas on 531.
Saudi Diyar Consultant drew rounds of 662 and 607 from Gerry Tano and Leo Edejer as well as contributions of 582 from Obie Ycasas, 593 from M. Lourdes and 545 from T. Grandia.
For Sky Freight-TFC, the scorers that counted were Goying Salazar 670, Rod Morales 611, Rene Santiago 553, Y. Santos 567 and I. Sayago 549.
