The United States and Europe used to reward Israel whenever its forces massacred the Palestinians and trampled United Nations decisions on Palestine and charters of human rights.
It is not a secret that Israel enjoys a de facto veto against all US and European weapons sales to Arab or Muslim countries. The Israeli justification for this veto is that the possession of advanced weapons by any Arab or Muslim country would endanger the security of Israel, besides depriving Tel Aviv of military superiority over Arab countries.
For instance, recently a pro-Israeli weekly magazine in the US reported that President Barack Obama’s administration had approved, following complaints from Israel, several changes to arms sale agreements with “moderate” Arab countries signed by former US President George Bush so that Israel’s military superiority could continue in the Middle East.
Israel was particularly worried about the weapons of air and naval forces besides some sophisticated electronic devices for warplanes that are identical with the devices used in Israeli warplanes, the weekly said.
It is, however, widely known that Israel supplies large quantities of arms and modern military equipment to China, India and several other countries in Asia and Latin America.
Most of the Israeli factories that manufacture weapons were built by the US and European countries.
According to a recent statement by an official in the Israeli prime minister’s office, the construction project of 692 houses in Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem was decided with the knowledge of and coordination with the US administration.
