- RIYADH: The General Secretariat of Prince Sultan bin Salman Architectural Heritage Prize has decided to extend its nomination period to the end of this month, instead of Feb.
- 15, to help more organizations participate.
Osama Al-Jowhari, secretary-general of the Prize Committee, said the period was extended following requests from many organizations. He said the extension would cover all of the four categories of the prize: architectural heritage projects; preserving architectural heritage; architectural heritage research; and human dimension.
He said the prize is aimed at enhancing public awareness to take care of architectural heritage. “We are aiming to change the public perception about architectural heritage from mere remnants of the past to a deeper vision and dimension to leave a greater impact in building nations and cultures,” he said.
