This weighed on Dubai’s index, while other Middle East markets were mixed. The Dubai index fell 0.6 percent to 1,590 points. The Abu Dhabi index climbed 0.2 percent to 2,633 points.

Kuwait and Qatar fell, but Saudi Arabia rose to end a three-session losing streak, Oman hit a two-week high and Bahrain and Egypt also advanced. The Kuwaiti index slipped 0.1 percent to 7,025 points, and The Qatari index fell 0.5 percent to 6,558 points.

In Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) rose 0.5 percent to 6,252.55 points. Gains were spread across almost all sectors, with the only loss being in the Transport sector, which was down 0.96 percent on Sunday. Sector gains, however, ranged from 0.02 percent in the Petrochemical Industries sector to a gain of 1.18 percent in the Real Estate Development sector.

Overall market breadth was positive, with 76 advancers and 40 decliners registering an AD ratio of 1.90, the Jeddah-based Financial Transaction House (FTH) said in its daily market commentary.

The Omani index rose 0.3 percent to 6,532 points, and the Bahraini index increased 0.4 percent to 1,478 points.

The Egypt index gained 0.9 percent to 6,756 points.
