Which of you have heard of a relative receiving a sizeable salary from the new communications companies, which make billions of riyals in profits?

The statistics in my hand prove that the number of Saudi youths employed in the communications sector has reduced since 2005. Where then are the promises of the 100,000 new jobs?

Which of you has seen a young Saudi in the offices of any insurance companies, of which there are 30 on the stock exchange?

It was proven beyond doubt that these insurance companies have obtained 15,000 recruitment visas over the last five years.

Reading about this large number of foreign recruits, you might start to believe that a young Saudi could not fill in an insurance policy! Which of you has seen a Saudi behind a counter of our national airline in foreign airports? Which of you has gone to the travel lounges of foreign airline companies in our airports to see who is behind the counter?

If you made a visit to a travel agent on our streets you will see that they are manned by foreigners, as if to say a young Saudi cannot issue a ticket or make a reservation. It may be surprising to learn that this sector alone obtained 10,000 recruitment visas!

All these promises of filling vacancies are 100 percent correct, but in fact they are only filled after half a million recruitment visas were issued for foreigners. They did not deliver actual jobs for Saudis.

I beg your pardon. I forgot that our only success story is of Saudis working as sales assistants in the vegetable market. However, the latest twist in this story is that these Saudis have become workers in shops owned by foreigners.
