Ramesh Bagwe, a minister of state for home affairs in the Congress-led Democratic Front in Maharashtra, lodged a complaint to the chief minister against officials of the home department, accusing them of not following rules.

Bagwe alleged that he was perturbed by the attitude of the Pune City Police Commissioner Satya Pal Singh, who defied his orders.  Bagwe said he was greatly pained by the disrespect shown to him at the inaugural function of India’s first open prison for women prisoners at the Yerawada central prison in Pune on Sunday. He said that police officers were treating him in a humiliating manner.

“The police pilot car that is provided to me in the capacity of minister of state for home affairs as per protocol, was withdrawn suddenly without any information or notice by the Pune police. Even the basic courtesy of informing me about the withdrawal of the pilot car was not shown,” he said.
