Sachin clarified that he stands by his early decision and will not play any T-20 cricket matches on international level.

The names of 30 probable cricketers have been announced for the T-20 World Cup scheduled April 30 to May 30. Sachin's name does not appear in the list of the probables.

Little Master Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian cricket team captain, appealed to Sachin to reconsider his decision.

"Sachin presently is in great form and hence he should rescind his decision not to play in T-20 World Cup matches abroad," Gavaskar said.

A close friend of Sachin commenting on the Master Blaster's decision told Arab News that Sachin's decision had to do with his anger at the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) for humiliating him during the T-20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007.

At that time the BCCI had dropped Sachin along with Rahul Dravid and Saurav Ganguly. In this T-20 World Cup, India had emerged the winner of the Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sachin, after being dropped from the Indian T-20 World Cup team in 2007, had then decided to not play in the Indian team in any international T-20 matches.

A BCCI official said that several members of the BCCI had met or phoned Sachin and requested him to reconsider his decision. But Sachin would not budge. After failing to persuade Sachin to withdraw his decision, the BCCI finally announced the names of the probable cricketers without Tendulkar.
