- JEDDAH: Two boys drowned in two separate accidents in Madinah province on Friday.
- In the first accident a 10-year old boy fell into a ravine in the Abyar Mashi village, 25 kilometers south of Madinah.
Divers of the Madinah Civil Defense retrieved the boy’s body from a five-meter-deep pit in the ravine that was full of water following recent rains, Civil Defense spokesman of Madinah Col. Mansour Al-Johani told Arab News.
In the other accident a nine-year old boy’s body was found by the Civil Defense team in a three-meter-deep irrigation tank close to Ola-Hail Road in Ola municipality. The Civil Defense handed the body to local police for investigation as the possibility of criminal involvement was not ruled out.
