Covering an area of 21,000 square meters, the new three-tower building will be located at the entrance of Makkah on the Jeddah-Makkah Expressway. The project’s first phase will be ready in 24 months.

“This is the second most important project being implemented by the ministry this year. Earlier this year, we signed a SR320 million contract to carry out the third phase of the rapid transport system,” he said.

Sahl bin Abdullah Al-Sabban, deputy minister for transport and projects, said the new headquarters would help enhance the services that the ministry provides to the guests of God. “Once completed, the new headquarters will become a major cultural monument in Makkah.”

Meanwhile, Al-Farsy received at his office in Jeddah the Syrian Haj delegation headed by Endowments Minister Muhammad Abdussattar. The two sides discussed arrangements for Syrian pilgrims, including their accommodation, and transportation in Makkah and Madinah and the holy sites.

The Saudi minister urged the Syrian delegation to enlighten their pilgrims on the pilgrimage duties before they travel to the Kingdom.

Abdussattar commended the Saudi government’s efforts in serving pilgrims who come for Haj and Umrah from across the world.
