- DAMMAM: A toddler’s thumb was amputated after part of the appendage was severed by the steps of an escalator at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Al-Yaum daily reported on Thursday.
The accident occurred while the girl’s parents were waiting for a flight. The girl tripped and her thumb got caught in the escalator’s “teeth.”
The father said he planned to sue the airport authorities for damages.
