Egyptian national Mohammed Msallem was stabbed to death on April 29 by an angry mob in the Chouf mountain town of Ketermaya.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the two men were detained Friday in Ketermaya. Lebanon's state-run news agency said angry residents blocked a main road in the village in protest.

The arrests come a day after an international human rights group called on authorities to prosecute suspects.
