It follows a similar case on Saturday, when the consulate rescued a  Filipino rape victim. Diplomats are now looking after her while she waits to receive her due benefits.

Consul General Leo Tito L. Ausan Jr. said the consulate gave a suspect’s name to the authorities, which will coordinate with Taif’s central police office.

Once they locate him, the local police station will be informed. Officers will then summon the suspect and the maid for further investigation.

Arab News understands that the maid lives in the city’s Salamah district.

"If it is probable that the suspect raped the complainant, he'll be taken into custody," Ausan said.

The maid called Arab News a few days ago to report that her employer, who is married with kids, had been raping her since she started working for his family three years ago.

She said that during her first two years her employer's wife, a Saudi teacher, was nice to her.

But when she came back from vacation after her first two-year contract, the wife started to mistreat her.

“She would reprimand me almost daily even for the littlest things, although she does not physically harm me. I feel so bad that I want to go home and be with my seven-year-old daughter,” she told Arab News.

Arab News reported her case to the consulate.
