The workshops, which carry the banner "Together for Complete Protection" and is organized by the directorate’s Women’s Affairs Department, will take place at the Salman Social Center from May 30.

The workshops aim to establish revised programs to raise awareness among the community of the impact of drugs on society and provide support for school counselors, particularly on how to identify students who are addicts or living with one.

Specialists from the directorate, King Abdulaziz Medical City and the Ministry of Education will give lectures and facilitate the workshops.

Student counselors will also be provided with the latest information and statistics on the types of drugs that tend to enter the Kingdom illegally.

Counselors will also be trained on how to give advice to students from varying backgrounds, with emphasis on how to guide them according to their age and personalities. The workshops will conclude on June 4 with an exhibition of real drug samples and photos of addicts.
