- JEDDAH: King Abdulaziz University Rector Osama Tayyeb called for an investigation into an incident on Tuesday during which a staff member slapped and kicked another staff member in front of a group of students.
Neither the man accused of the abusive behavior nor the victim of the assault were identified, but university sources said the two men knew each other for about 10 years, having started working together at Qassim University.
An argument broke out after one of the men accused the other of administrative abuses, including using a university vehicle for private purposes.
The victim of the assault has retained a lawyer while university officials are gathering affidavits from eyewitnesses.
