- JEDDAH: Pakistan's Consul General Abdul Salik Khan called on Madinah Gov.
- Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed at his office on Monday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.
The consul general congratulated the governor and the Saudi leadership on Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's completion of five years of reign so far and said that the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of King Abdullah, has made tremendous progress in all sectors. He added the Kingdom and its leadership are a source of strength for the Muslim world.
During the meeting, the consul general discussed with the governor problems faced by the Pakistani community in the Madinah region. He brought to the notice of the governor the problems faced by the community in getting bodies of deceased Pakistanis released for repatriation to Pakistan and requested for procedures to be simplified in this regard. He also made a request for a plot to construct a school building for Pakistanis in the Madinah region.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed said Saudi Arabia attachés great importance to its relations with Pakistan. He said that the Saudi leadership wants to see Pakistan as a strong, stable and prosperous country. He appreciated the contributions of Pakistani community in the Kingdom's development and progress, and gave assurances that he would resolve problems faced by the Pakistani community in the Madinah region.
