BRJ, an initiative of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), recently released its monthly job creation report, verified by Deloitte & Touche.

A team of more than 400 job creation officers across the Kingdom is continuing to help provide opportunities for the Kingdom’s youth.

BRJ’s programs include the training ending with employment program, which created 1,771 job opportunities.

This program concentrates on vocational and craft-training courses that end with employment in private sector companies throughout the Kingdom.

Mohammed Suwaidan, an employee at Hussein Hashim Al-Attas (Laylaty) says that a training course provided through BRJ sharpened his skills and abilities and helped him obtain a well-paid job.

In addition, Aziza Mohammed Boqursain said that she received training in makeup and marketing and is now working at the French company Fredrick M on an attractive package with benefits worth SR1,200 a month.

Other initiatives from BRJ include the direct employment program, which helped provide 3,293 jobs during the first half of the year for young Saudis, as well as a small projects finance program that has supported 3,167 startup businesses in the Kingdom so far in 2010, among others.

As part of BRJ’s activities and programs, Nafisa Shams Academy for Arts and Crafts provided training for 665 women in different fields, including makeup, secretarial work, and tailoring and fashion design.

BRJ Executive Director Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Al-Fihaid said that the programs have created at least 151,600 job opportunities since its inception.

Al Fihaid said that outstanding results have been generated with support from governmental authorities in general, including the Human Resources Development Fund, Saudi Credit and Saving Bank and Labor Office branches throughout the Kingdom.

He also commended the efforts of more than 400 young men and women who are members of the job- creation team. Al Fihaid added that the plan is to create 46,000 job opportunities throughout the Kingdom by the end of 2010.
